Think-Pair-Share strategy in speaking skill development

Introduction: Mastery of oral expression is a powerful factor in the development structured thinking and cognitive abilities. However, traditional methodologies English teaching, based on grammar writing, determine poor performance students international context. Think-pair-share (TPS) as collaborative learning strategy an appropriate tool to solve problem. Objective: This research analyzes influence TPS teaching speaking skill A1 at language center university Ambato, Ecuador. Methodology: From direct observation application survey, it was detected that presented difficulties constructing effective communication. A quasi-experimental study considered, which two groups, control experimental, were established. The first group received classes through strategies second TPS. Initially, proficiency level both groups evaluated by applying Cambridge Key Test (KET). implemented groups. In experimental case, consisted work among students, each participant uploaded short videos online platform about their ideas regarding topics suggested teacher. then reviewed material prepared class partners, made suggestions for improving skills, gave presentation classmates. Another KET test applied know development. Results: Students improved performance, although showed better results, point mean 12.48 out 15, compared group, 9.70 15. Conclusion: well disposed using program allowed improve skills communicate language.
